A Ladylike Crop

The Cut
Blonde locks are always in style for summer but this season blondes are edgy and muted rather than girl-next-door golden. This elfin crop is a versatile look that suits a range of ages and styles. Slicing into the layers heavily texturises the hair, keeping lightness in the shape and allowing huge flexibility. The contrast between a blunt concave shape around the nape and a short cropped fringe gives an androgynous modern look. Worn messy with attitude, this cut is youthful and fresh; groomed soft and smooth, it instantly looks dressed up.
The Colour
A dark beige blonde at the roots graduates out to a lighter true blonde on the ends, giving depth and variation to the style. A rougeing technique, where roots are backcombed before colour is added to the ends, means the colour is smoothly blended and not stripy and obvious like traditional highlights can be.
The Styling
For a sassy rock star style, mist Redken Fabricate throughout the hair and blowdry, directing the nozzle upwards from root to tip for maximum lift. Mix a small amount of Redken Grit Wax and an even smaller amount of Redken Glass between your fingers and pull upwards through ends of the hair. For a sleek, smooth style, blow-dry as before and then part hair at the side. Apply Redken Water Wax with flat palms, smoothing the hair in the direction it naturally sits.
