The Cut

Although the essence of a summer look is carefree and relaxed, the season isn’t always spent at the beach in jandals. With this new-look bob, all the work is in the cut, leaving you a great style to either wash and wear or dress up for a night out. The weight is left in the front layers, while textured layers right around the base add lightness, volume and movement. It’s a look that’s perfect for those with fine to medium hair, but should be avoided by those with very thick hair as the width would overwhelm the face.

The Colour

This style is brought to life with a subtle contrast between two tones. A cool iridescent shade of brown with mauve undertones anchors the look to work with the model’s cool skin tone. Tiny slivers of light amber are then scattered in a crescent across the front and rear of the head where the light hits, enhancing texture while offering a youthful softness to the overall look.

The Styling

Apply Redken Rootful to damp hair to give internal lift and structure, then add a touch of Pureology Pure Volume gel through the mid-lengths and ends. Dry hair using a large radial brush, pulling the hair up and against the natural direction of the hair at the roots for increased body. When fully dry, apply Redken Work force hairspray while bIasting air into the hair to up the amps with volume through the layers.
